First Visit

Your initial appointment usually will consist of a comprehensive examination and a dental prophylaxis (cleaning). This examination will include:

• A thorough extra-oral and intra-oral cancer screening
• An evaluation of the Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) and associated soft tissues
• Examination of the teeth with recording of existing dental condition
• Taking of needed x-rays
• A periodontal (gum) evaluation
• Review of your treatment needs
• A dental prophylaxis (cleaning)

Depending on results of your examination. A separate appointment(s) may be necessary to review a more extensive treatment plans or to provide more extensive type of cleanings.
